Crypto Screener: Shortlisting by Score

There are thousands of crypto pairs, and technical indicators are unreliable on most of them. The value of screening is not breadth but the opposite: shortening the list you look at, and comparing that short list on identical criteria.

Why only liquid pairs are scanned

The scan universe is limited to the 18 most liquid crypto pairs: BTC, ETH, SOL, BNB, XRP, ADA, DOGE, AVAX, LINK, DOT, TON, TRX, NEAR, APT, ARB, OP, INJ and SUI among them. That limit is not a shortcoming but a condition of measurement quality.

On a thin pair a single large order can triple the volume ratio, swing RSI sharply and distort support and resistance structure. Putting such an asset on a scan list means filling the list with noise.

How crypto screening differs from stock screening

Crypto trades around the clock: no session gaps, no opening gaps, no closing bell. Indicators develop without interruption, which makes daily candles cleaner to interpret than on equities.

Volatility, on the other hand, is markedly higher. An ATR percentage that would be unusual on a stock is ordinary on a crypto pair. That is why scoring evaluates every asset against its own history; otherwise the list would permanently skew toward crypto.

What the score looks at

The score comes from four layers: clarity of trend structure, direction and strength of momentum, whether volatility has compressed, and where volume sits relative to its own average. All of it is computed on daily charts from closed bars.

Excluding the in-progress candle is a measured correction: its volume has not accumulated yet, which pushed the ratio down artificially — an effect that was especially pronounced on crypto.

From scan to analysis

A scan result is a starting point, not a conclusion. When a pair stands out on a card you can request a full analysis for that symbol, which brings the complete indicator set, the levels and the invalidation condition.

The free plan includes one scan and three analyses per day. A routine that works in practice: run one scan, pick at most three pairs from the list, and spend your allowances there.

Can I look at a pair outside the list?

Yes. The scan universe is fixed but analysis is not: any pair traded on Binance can be analysed by typing its symbol, and an incomplete pair is completed automatically, so typing SOL is enough.

Just bear one thing in mind: on low-volume pairs technical indicators are more fragile. The analysis still runs, but the output deserves a more cautious reading.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many crypto pairs are scanned?

The 18 most liquid pairs. The limit is set by liquidity, because indicators do not behave reliably on thinly traded pairs.

Which timeframe does the scan use?

The daily chart. If you trade shorter horizons, analyse your chosen pair separately on your own timeframe.

How long does a scan result stay valid?

Results are reused server-wide for a while, so reopening the same scan does not consume another allowance. Starting a new scan refetches the data.

Is a crypto scan a separate allowance?

Scans and detailed analyses are separate. The free plan gives one scan and three analyses a day; Pro gives twenty scans a day and unlimited analyses.

Why does the scan list contain the same pairs each time?

The universe is fixed by liquidity, but scores and ranking are recomputed on current data every scan. What changes is the order within the list, not the list itself.
