AI Chart Analysis from a Screenshot

Sometimes the chart you want to examine lives somewhere else: a different exchange, a different instrument, or a screen covered with your own drawings. Chart image analysis exists for exactly that — you upload the picture and ask for a reading.

How image analysis differs from symbol analysis

When you type a symbol, the tool fetches raw data and computes the indicators itself, so the result is numerically verifiable. When you upload a screenshot there is no raw data: the model interprets what it can see.

That difference defines the output. Visual analysis discusses patterns, channels, trend lines, candle structure and the levels drawn on the chart; it does not promise an exact RSI value. The two modes complement each other rather than replacing one another.

Which screenshots work well

Clear, legible charts with visible axes produce the best results. Keep the price and time axes inside the frame; heavily compressed, low-resolution screens or charts buried under a dozen indicators are harder to read.

Dark or light theme makes no difference. What matters is that candles are distinguishable and any level lines are visible. Including the asset name and timeframe in the screenshot noticeably improves the accuracy of the reading.

The honest limits of a visual reading

A level read from an image is less precise than one computed from raw data. The model evaluates pixels, so a distorted scale or a logarithmic axis shifts the reading accordingly.

The second limit is context: an image shows only what is in frame. Because the longer-term structure before it is invisible, a wider crop of the same chart can tell a completely different story. It is worth taking screenshots as wide as you reasonably can.

Allowance and privacy

Visual analysis draws on the same daily AI allowance; on the free plan three analyses in total are shared between symbol and image analysis. The allowance is consumed only when the model actually runs and returns a result.

The image you upload is used to produce the analysis and no permanent archive of images is built. Uploading anything other than a chart screenshot will not produce a meaningful result — the feature is not designed for it.

Using it together with symbol analysis

The strongest approach combines the two: if the asset is supported, run the numerical analysis first, then upload the screen with your own drawings for a visual reading. When both point the same way, your reading is on firmer ground.

When they diverge, finding out why is instructive — usually it comes down to a different crop, a different timeframe, or a drawing on the chart that does not correspond to the underlying data.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which image formats can I upload?

Common screenshot formats are supported. Clarity matters more than format: an image where candles are distinguishable and axes are visible gives the best result.

Can I analyse a chart from another platform?

Yes, that is the reason the feature exists. The model can read a chart of an instrument the tool does not carry in its own data sources.

Is visual analysis as precise as numerical analysis?

No. In symbol analysis indicators are computed from raw data and can be verified; in visual analysis the model interprets what it sees, so levels are approximate.

Is my uploaded chart stored?

The image is used to produce the analysis; no permanent image archive is kept. The analysis history feature stores text results.

Does image analysis use my daily allowance?

Yes, it draws on the same daily AI allowance. The free plan has three in total, shared with symbol analysis.
